Reality Sinking In

It is starting to hit me how much of a culture shock this is going to be! I'll probably be the only American for many miles around, unless there happens to be another service person from like the Peace Corps around.  I'll be living with Namibian teachers, in a Namibian village, potentially kilometers from the nearest paved road! How cool is that?!

Bunk 5 girls from Hawkeye will appreciate this--I am guaranteed to have have water wherever I am placed, however, any sort of heat in that water is highly unlikely.  So cold showers for six months.  Used to that, at least!

Apparently, there are huge spiders EVERYWHERE! Harmless ones, but still... HUGE. and EVERYWHERE, according to the volunteer, Hannah, who I interviewed with. She has been a huge help with planning my packing list! Thank you, Hannah!

Note: I write in a very spastic, train-of-thought kind of way.  It may end up being hard to follow, but I'll do my best to at least break up the paragraphs into separate ideas. No promises.
